Preschool has music once a week for 30 minutes. During this time I try to teach as much as possible. We do a variety of singing, chanting, movement, play instruments, learn history and culture, use props and stuffed animals, play games, etc. I have really enjoyed teaching the Preschool class, and have enjoyed watching how much they have improved since the beginning of the year. They are learning to be in control of their bodies, coordinate their movements with their singing, and are getting better and better at being able to sing in tune. Here are two tracks from music class. The first one is called "The Movement Song" with a few patterns at the end--featuring some student "solos." The second track is called "The Frog Song."
Inspired by his best friend's painting called "Ballet of the Unhatched Chicks," Modest Mussorgsky wrote a piece with the same name. He tried to compose it in a way that the listener could imagine the painting. What does it sound like to you? If you scroll past the 3 videos, you can follow along with the music call chart. |
